So, Full Disclosure... is now in demo

We're excited to announce the public demo of So, Full Disclosure..., a free, open-source national resource making state-level public official and candidate financial disclosure data accessible for journalists and the public.

What's available now

In this initial beta, we've launched with financial disclosure data from three states — North Carolina, Mississippi, and Arkansas — covering more than 100,000 filings from tens of thousands of public officials. Each state's filings are searchable, sortable, and downloadable, with direct links to original source documents and DocumentCloud embeds for full-text reading.

We've also built out reference pages for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, documenting what each state requires in terms of financial disclosure and how to access those records.

Why we built this

Financial disclosure data is one of the most powerful tools for accountability journalism, but it's also one of the hardest to access. Every state has different requirements, different formats, and different levels of accessibility. Some states make filings available online in searchable databases. Others require written requests. And a few don't require disclosures at all.

We're building So, Full Disclosure to change that — to create a single place where reporters and the public can find, search, and download financial disclosure data from every state.

What's next

This is a demo, and there's a lot more to come. We're actively working on adding more states, improving search, and building tools for bulk data analysis. If you have feedback, find bugs, or want to contribute, we'd love to hear from you.
